'Visitin' with Roy Rogers Riders Club Members'

May 10, 2006 Buffalo Jim and I met Elvin & Betty Pettit at the *Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum* & 'Happy Trails Theatre' to see "Dusty & the High Riders" Show. We had a fabulous visit and saw a wonderful show together! It was great to see Gary LeMaster, a former legendary "Son's of the Pioneers" for many years, now playin' in the 'High Riders Band'. With his and Sean's incredible guitar talents together, it makes one excitin' show. Ya don't wanna miss it!

Here we are with our Roy Rogers Rider's Club members and friends, Elvin and Betty Pettit after the upbeat performance of "Dusty & the High Riders" in the *Happy Trails Theatre*. It was a great day for Roy & Dale fans! Thanks Elvin & Betty, Buffalo Jim & I had a marvelous time with ya!!

**** **************** *************
On June 20, 2006 Buffalo Jim , Felina and I traveled to Lees Summit, MO to visit Betty and Elvin Pettit overnight. They had a Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Memorabillia Collection bein' exibited at 'Crown Center' that we wanted to see in Kansas, City, MO. They had a 'very nice' western exibit on display!

In a certain area inside Crown Center, it had many unusual collections that I would NEVER have thought of bein' as collectables. There was some MIGHTY STRANGE collections!!

Before Buffalo Jim, Felina and I left, Betty gave me a 'special gift' that came from the estate sale of Roy Rogers & Dale Evans in California. It's a special gift that I'll cherish forever. Thanks Betty, you're one in a million!

Buffalo Gal and Betty relaxin' by beautiful lush scenery and waterfall inside the "Westin Hotel Crown Plaza" lobby. From what Elvin and Betty told us, the contractors built the hotel 'round the gorgeous rock formation that was in that spot.

On the way back home from Betty & Elvin's, we stopped by our longtime friends who now reside in the town of Lowry City, MO. I used to own lake property across from their's at Twin Oaks. It's located on Truman Lake's 'Grand Arm', nine miles east of Lowry City. They still own it, but they have it up for sale.

*Gene & Betty*

They are a fine Christain couple that I've had the pleasure of knowin' for 'bout 12 years now. They live in a sweet little home with their eight year old chihuahau, named *Peaches*. I'm so glad the Lord arranged for me to have the lake property I had for a few years. If He hadn't, I would never have met these swell folks!

*Peaches*

Don't forget sweet little 'Peaches'!
She's a eight year old fawn and white Chihuahua who's precious to them and is a mighty fine little girl!

Longtime Friends*

Buffalo Jim don't get in many photos as he's usually takin' them, so we got a shot of him and our Felina with our dear friends Gene and Betty, by Gene's fruit/vegetable garden in mid June 2006.

*John Payne*

One Armed Bandit & Company

Buffalo Jim and I attended Bolivar, MO's *Country Days* on Friday and Saturday, July 7th and 8th. We had heard that one of our "cowboy friends" was appearin' there as the 'Specialty Act' durin' the three day rodeo each night. Here's John Payne, the One Armed Bandit and me ..... ~Buffalo Gal~.

John Payne, the notorist One Armed Bandit & Company has been voted as the eight time award winnin'"Top Contract Act" in Pro-rodeo, from Shidler, OK.

Son Lynn, and daughter Amanda have followed their dad's footsteps and perform the astoudin' tricks with various livestock that's a real rarity today. They've been known to be assisted by Dogs, Horses, Texas Longhorns and Buffalo. They 'round 'em up and head 'em strait to the very top of the huge trailer. John's performances are so amazin', as John has only one arm; resultin' from his bein' electricuted and pronounced dead, back in 1973. With the help of CPR, John came back to life and is now doin' what he loves to do best.

On September 6, 2006, Buffalo Jim and I visited the "Sons of the Pioneers Show" at Shepherd of the Hills in Branson, MO. The legendary Sons of the Pioneers put on an excellent show! Buffalo Jim and I commented how well Dale Warren's voice sounded that night.

Hargis Marcel is the commedienne at the "Sons of the Pioneers Show". He joined the Sons of the Pioneers in their winter home of Tucson, AZ in February 2004.

Dale Warren, strawboss of the Pioneers was so kind to Buffalo Jim and me. Here's a photo of Dale and Buffalo Gal durin' the intermission of their show. Dale Warren celebrates his 55th year with the "lengendary "Sons of the Pioneers" this year.

*Roy Rogers - Dale Evans 3rd Annual Roundup*
Branson                                                   Missouri

The 3rd Annual Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Roundup was a huge success! As usual, Dustin Rogers out did himself. Dustin, along with the great crew at the museum poured their hearts into makin' 2006, one that will be remembered fondly for years by the fans who traveled far and wide to attend the event. I take my hat off to "all the crew" and the many more hardworkin' participants for their part in helpin' make 2006's Roundup a huge success!

For Buffalo Jim and me, the 3rd Annual Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Roundup started with the "Meet and Greet" on Friday evenin' at the Welk's Resort. Rene' from the Welk's Resort and the crew there created a wonderful western themed 'get together' where us fans could gather and socialize with other Roy & Dale fans, the Rogers Family members attendin, and many of "Our Roy & Dale Extended Family" who we hadn't seen in a while. An evenin' of great conversation and rekindlin' of wonderful friends and family was enjoyed by many. There was more attendin' the "Meet and Greet" session than what was planned for, but the great crew at Welk's Resort made room to accomodate eveyone. Rene' Cavett and her crew, we humbly "THANK YOU"!!

Keith and Mike were the official cooks for the roundup. They also carried many flavors of ice cold drinks to quinch your thirst. Keith and Mike kept the food hot and ready for all those Roy & Dale fans. Thanks guys! The food was DELICIOUS and thank you for the cool drinks!!

The Osage Valley Vigilantes are from Cass County, MO. They are friends of ours who are a superb re-enactment western group who promote gun safety. They perform at various events and venues across the nation.

A closer view of the townspeople durin' the Osage Valley Vigilantes' performance.

Another view of the fine performance by the Osage Valley Vigilantes of Cass County, MO.

Here's ~Buffalo Gal~ and Raymond E. White. Raymond E. White is the author of the book, "King of the Cowboys", Queen of the West". It's a great reference book of everything ya ever wanna know 'bout Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Ray spent many years of research for this fabulous book.

Ray, Buffalo Jim and I've communicated over the internet and by the telephone for over a year now. Buffalo Jim and I knew in our hearts, he was as nice a person as he was over the phone and through our emails.

His daughter and grandaughter are quite a pair! Thank you two for sharin' your dad and grandfather with Buffalo Jim and me at breakfast on Saturday!! We so enjoyed visitin' with ya and gettin' to know ya better!!

Our Felina Marie wanted Mama to take her for a ride on Trigger, but this is what she had to settled for.

Dad and Felina are lookin' at Trigger behind the glass in his display. They both are thinkin' how magnificant he is. Dad's explainin' to Felina how Trigger became 'the smartest horse in the movies'.

Buffalo Jim and Felina are checkin' out Buttermilk, Dale's horse and Bullet, "the wonder dog'. I wonder if Felina thinks Bullet is a giant doggie next to her!

Here's Papa, Mama and Felina. Irene Atteberry, our pal from the giftshop took this photo of our family. Thanks Irene, I like it!!

In this photo, Buffalo Jim and I are relaxin' a bit, 'fore the big gala begins Saturday evein' at the museum.

The Rogers Family had a very delicious meal catered in for us fans. Ah ...... it was very tasty and NO CALERIES WHATSOEVER, I was told! Many thanks goes out to the family for all the neat western themed decorated tables that encased the museum.

The Gala in the "Happy Trails Theatre" started with Dustin announcin' there was gonna be drawin's. "Hold on to your tickets and if anyone wants to get in on more chances to win somethin', here's your chance." They had many drawin's and lots of Roy & Dale fans won somethin'.

Dusty told us there would be no more delays and then introduced the talented and multi-award winnin' western singin' group, the "Sons of the San Joaquin".

The Sons of the San Joaquin are a fabulous western singin' group! Buffalo Jim and I've attended many venues where they've appeared since we've been married. They have such wonderful harmony together! Jack and Joe have written many songs that reflect the lifestyle and love of the American Cowboy. (l to r) Lon Hannah, Jack Hannah, and Joe Hannah (Lon is Joe's son).

Another photo of Lon, Jack and Joe, "The Sons of the San Joaquin".

Then, Dusty introduced the entertainin' "Duo of the Year", "Curly & Belinda", Curly Musgrave and Belinda Gail.

Curly Musgrave and Belinda Gail are a great duo! This last year they've won several awards with their wonderful singin' and music. The are the reignin' "Duo Group of the Year" from the Western Music Association. If ya haven't seen their talents live, they are a "must see"! They are wonderful Christain western entertainers. You'll love 'em both!! Here, they're onstage at the "Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Happy Trails Theatre" at the Saturday evenin' Gala.

Curly & Belinda are singin' one of my favorites.

Then, there was a thunderous sound comin' from backstage. Here came Travis Lowen leadin' this huge Texas Longhorn steer, very carefully through the narrow hall that leads onto the stage area. WOW, he made it through! Travis and his steer performs at different venues. Travis does wonderful services and shows with different animals for civic groups, schools, charitable organizations, includin' Christian ministries.

*Sunday Mornin' Cowboy Church*
Travis Lowen and his pardner had a beautiful cowboy church service on Sunday mornin'. We've been to a couple of his services before and they'll move ya like no other service. You'll go away with a mighty good feelin' and respect for God's animal creations.

Here, Travis is performin' a trick of standin' on the back of his pardner and throwin' a large lariat loop.

Do ya see Travis' hat on the head of his pardner? He tellin' the audience how the relationship of his steer and himself is like our relationship to the Lord. His steer has to put his whole trust in Travis, as we as humans need to put our whole trust in the Lord.

Well folks, the evenin' went by way too fast, but the evenin' had to come to an end, I suppose. It was time for the show to come to a close.

Dusty gathered all the gang onstage. He had all the Rogers Family who helped with puttin' on "The Roundup" and "The Gala" for Saturday evenin' to come onstage and join the performers and closin' with all of us singin' "HAPPY TRAILS".

Dusty is very accomodatin' to his Mom & Dad's fans, let alone his own fans! After performin' two shows, five days a week, and sometimes more, he will visit with ya, take photos and sign autographs for all the fans.

This is two of our new Roy & Dale friends we met at the Roundup. It's Red & Mary Ann Morgan of Woodstock, GA. Buffalo Jim took this great picture of Dusty and them (courtesy of Red Morgan). Red and Mary Ann, thank you for your friendship and we're so glad we had the chance to meet ya both!!

Julie Rogers (Dustin's wife) is showin' her two sons, Tyler "Roy", and Wyatt how to use the gun at the shootin' gallery.

"Look Mom, I think Tyler knows how to shoot it now", Wyatt says.

Everyone was wantin' a snapshot of Dusty and his family who attended "The Roundup". Fortunely, many of us got this photo of Dusty and his relatives who attended.

Dustin and the whole gang, y'all did a fantastic job of makin' the "Roy Rogers - Dale Evans 3rd Annual Roundup" a huge success and we'll be lookin' forward to next year!!

Above is our story and comments, plus photos from the **3rd Annual Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Roundup**. We had such a marvelous time minglin' with so many Roy and Dale's fans from all over the world. Buffalo Jim and I can hardly wait 'til next year!! 'Til then, solong, Good Luck and May the Good Lord Take alikin' to Ya!!
