Hope ya'll enjoy sharin' our travels, "on the road"!! (Please allow time for this page to download.) ****************************** *Meetin' Roy & Dale* *Extended Family*
On Novemeber 7, 2001, I joined *The Official Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Fans Message Board*. Since that time, we've met quite a few Roy & Dale fans along the trail, ..... and now consider some of 'em "FAMILY".
* Buffalo Gal & Painted Pony*
This is Painted Pony and my's very first meetin'. It was January 17, 2002. Since that time, we've become great friends. Thanks Roy & Dale for bringin' us together!!
*Buffalo Jim, Buffalo Gal, Painted Pony & Music Man*
In this photo, we've just got through eatin' and gettin' to know Painted Pony and Music Man better.
That was over five years ago. Painted Pony, Music Man, Buffalo Jim and I have become like family. We consider them part of our Roy & Dale Extended Family. So glad I found *The Official Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Fans Message Board*, for Buffalo Jim and I wouldn't have met these wonderful folks!!
*Meetin' Shirley*
Here I am, meetin' Shirley Duke, at the Springfield/Branson Regoinal Airport, in Springfield, MO, May 28, 2002. It was quite a meetin' too! We had never met in person!. She was Exactly who she was! "What ya saw and heard, was what ya got!! A grand lady & now a dear friend and extended family member!! Shirley, Buffalo Jim and I were headin' out to the "2002 Roy Rogers Festival", in Portsmouth, OH, later that evein'.
*Larry & Cheryl Barnett and Buffalo Gal & Buffalo Jim* We're with Larry Barnett and Cheryl Rogers - Barnett. This was the very first time we met Cheryl & Larry. It just happen to be at the 2002 Roy Rogers Festival. Portsmouth, OH is near the childhood home of her dad Roy Rogers, *King of the Cowboys*, who grew up in Duck Run, OH. Cheryl is Roy and Dale's first daughter. From left to right: Larry, Cheryl, Buffalo Gal and Buffalo Jim.
*Rob & the Girls*
Roy Rogers grandson, Rob Johnson and his sweet wife Linda visited Portsmouth, OH and his grandpa's stompin' grounds for the first time at the 2002 Roy Rogers Festival. Sure glad Rob's wife Linda, isn't a jealous woman!! His "Aunt Shirl" and the rest of us are aggrevatin' Rob and havin' a great time with him. There's Peggy, Navyne, Rob, "Aunt Shirl" and me (Buffalo Gal) with Rob.
*Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Fan Message Board Members * A few of the Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Official Website, Fan Message Board members came together on Thursday after lunch, to have this photo made! From left to right, Jim Freize (Trigger Jim) & his wife Sharon (Happy Trails Gal), Bev Longman, yours truly, Buffalo Gal (Carolyn), Shirley Duke, Lindale, (Linda), and Buffalo Jim (Jim).
*More King of the Cowboys Fans*
Here's a few more King of the Cowboys fans. From left to right, Peggy Barnett, Buffalo Jim, yours truly, Buffalo Gal and Navyne Cline. Was wonderful to meet and enjoy their company, while at the festival. Great bunch of folks!!
*Our New Friends*
Here is a group of great Roy and Dale Fans!! We like alot of the old western stars of the "good ole days". There's Buffalo Jim from Buffalo, Missouri, Peggy Barnett from West Virginia, Buffalo Gal from Buffalo, Missouri, Mary from Georgia, Beverly Moore from Marietta, Georgia, and Shirley Duke from Sherman, Texas.
*Great Friendships*
Buffalo Jim, Shirl and myself, we're are at the home of photographers Garnet & Don Davis. Don and his lovely wife are the "official photographers" for the Roy Rogers Festival, and they've taken some mighty impressive shots of MANY well known people from all over the world!! Included, are former presidents, heads of government and state, actors and actresses, musical and singin' entertainers. The list goes on and on! We DID NOTICE they had a few photographs of a "southern gal" named Dolly Pardon. Hmm! Garnet has been quoted as sayin', "that was Don's idea!" But she had to admit, Dolly was a easy subject to snap a picture of! There were these two outstandin' photographs there that stood out in my mind and Shirl's, especially!! They were of "Roy Rogers and Dale Evans". They were shot, just a few years before Roy and Dale's departure from this earth (1994 and 2001). What a selection of photographs Don & Garnet do have! They have a studio beside their home where they have the capacity to fix up and send "whatever photo" ya want. They have thousands!! We were there after dinner, 'til the wee hours of the mornin'. What an impressive place you guys have!! Thanks for "all your hospitality" Don, since Garnet was outta town on assignment. The old photographs of Roy's childhood home, they are outstandin'!!
*The Duke Gang & The Horsleys*
When "The Duke Gang" went by Portsmouth, OH to pickup the antique cabinet Buffalo Jim & Buffalo Gal had purchased while at the 2002 Roy Rogers Festival. These nice folks offered to help us load it in the U-Haul. So "The Duke Gang" took 'em out to eat lunch, 'fore headin' to Bloomington, IL for the Dumont Auction. Nancy is Executive-Secetary and LaRue is the Treasurer of "The Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Collector's Association" based outa Portsmouth, OH. LaRue is the Roy Rogers Festival chairman. They are the ones to contact 'bout information, tickets or festival packages for the Roy Rogers Festival in Portsmouth. Roy Rogers Fesytival now has a website. for the festival. Check it out at www.royrogersfestival.org. We had a ball, LaRue and Nancy! Thanks for your friendship and "all the goodies" you gave us! Your two "Are the Best"!!!
*Travelin' to California*
*Sunshine Above the Clouds*
As some of ya know, this was "my very first airplane ride". IT WAS JUST AWESOME!! In this photo, we're soarin' 28,000 feet up in the air on our way to Victorville, California, via the Ontario, CA airport). The sun is ashinin' above the gorgeous clouds! This was so neat, as below us, it was stormin' real bad!!
*Above Ontario, CA*
We're ascendin' down lower; right above the rooftops of the buildin's. We're headed towards the Ontario, CA airport.
*Famous Sign*
This is the signage at the former location of the Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum, in Apple Valley, CA. This was our first stop on the way in from the airport.

Here's Dusty and the High Riders! This was their last major performance in Victorville, CA on Sunday February 16, 2003. It was durin' the 2003 Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Film Festival. From left to right: Dom Calvano "The Italian Stallion" on drums (Dom is also the senior member of the High Riders. He's been with Dusty close to, if not over 20 years). Next to him is Kirsten Renna. She does backup and lead vocals for the group. A beautiful voice! Then there's Dusty (of course) and "The Unknown Roper". Next to him is Sean Clavin "The Cute One" (He's High Rider on the RR/DE MB), lead guitar. And last but not least, is Phil Conti, bass guitar. Dusty and the High Riders outdid themselves!! They are truly a great band!! All of you that's never heard them, they are performin' twice daily (Tue-Sat) in the new **Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum & Happy Trails Theatre** in Branson, MO.
*Dusty's Last Big Performance in California*
This was the very last large performance Roy "Dusty" Rogers did in the Apple Valley, California area. It was at the then called, "Apple Valley Mall", which housed the 2003 Annual Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Film Festival that year. Here's Sheila Reiboldt and me, on Monday, February 17, 2003. This is right before the "Hertiage Tour". She'd been workin' "ALL WEEKEND" at the 2003 Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Film Festival, and then volunteered to help with the "Heritage Tour". She's quite a gal!! No wonder she was awarded the "2003 Volunteer of the Year" by The Happy Trails Children Foundation, at the Saturday evenin' banquet, two days previously!!
*Here's ...... Jason!*
Here's a mighty fine young man! Jason Lannon happens to be our own Sheila Reiboldt's nephew! He was twelve in this photo. He's a "Dusty & the Highriders" loyal fan, but he sorta likes Roy Rogers as he's awearin' an authentic Roy Rogers swede jacket in this picture; courtesy of Shirley Duke.
*Here We Are*

**Roy Rogers Ranch**
Here's the "Double R Bar Ranch", where Roy, Dale and their family once owned....Now, the family of one of the men who worked for Roy & Dale, are proud owners of this ranch, "The Enriquez Family". We had such a marvelous time Eric!! Ya'll out done yourselves with all that great food!! Your family should be proud of all the hard work, ya'll have done! Your family represents alot of what Roy & Dale stood for; God, Family and Country! Great to run into some of your family at the restuarant!! They're terrific!! We're so very glad your family was chosen by God, to help continue Roy and Dale's legacy, from "The Double R Bar Ranch". Happy Trails, and may the GOOD LORD take a likin' to ya, Buffalo Gal *Eric Enriquez & Buffalo Gal*

*Branson Fest 2003*
Buffalo Jim and I attended "Branson Fest 2003" on Saturday April 12, in Branson, MO. It's sorta like the June Jam they have Nashville, TN for the country music fans. Alot of the shows have "mini shows" for the fans. Some of the businesses, restuarants and vendors have booths set up for fans to get a glance at what's in store for them, when they visit Branson, MO. "Dusty Rogers & the Highriders" represented the brand new "Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum & Happy Trails Theatre". *Dusty & the Highriders at 2003 Branson Fest*
Here's Roy Rogers Jr. and the High Riders! Here, they're performin' at the "2003 Branson Fest". What a welcome they had, by people attendin'! "Dusty & the Highriders" received the largest and the loudest appause from the audience at the Saturday afternoon show in the "Welk's Theatre". It was a grand time!! Branson visitors were delighted and impressed by "Dusty & the Highriders". Believe the band "has arrived" as they say!! You may see Dusty & the High Riders at the relocated and new **Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum & Happy Trails Theatre**, in Branson, MO. *Enjoyin' The Moments* We're really "enjoyin' the moments", as Dusty & the High Riders are singing for the folks. Hope you're enjoyin' readin' and lookin' at our adventures "On the Road"! Please read more of our adventures on "On the Road-2". It's listed right below this page on the navigation memu.
Many Thanks, ~Buffalo GalReturn to Top of Page
