Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum is now located in " Ozark Mountain Country "!!!!

Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum
&
Happy Trails Theatre
Groundbreakin'

Tuesday, September 3, 2002 was the groundbreakin' ceremonies of the *Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum & 'Happy Trails Theatre'* It was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! Did ya'll read & hear that, 'Happy Trails Theatre'!!

There were 'bout 100-150 people there to help celebrate the occasion. Branson Mayor at the time, Louis Schaefer and two of Branson's Board of Aldermen, along with the Branson Fire Chief were among the city officals who welcomed Dusty & Linda, Dustin, Julie and little Tyler Roy, and Mindy & John (Mindy is Roy & Dale's grandaughter, and one of 'Rogers Legacy'), to 'The Ozarks' & 'Ozark Mountian Country'. Many of Roy & Dale's loyal fans were on hand to join in the celebration! They came from all over the world!

Here are the photos Buffalo Jim took at the Official Ground Breakin' of the future **Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum & Happy Trails Theatre** in Branson, MO.

Evan little *Tyler Roy* had his own little shovel! It was so cute to watch him shovel dirt, in honor of his Great Grandpa Roy & Great Grandma Dale. It was a pleasure to watch them push their shovels down into SW Missouri's rich earth. Believe Tyler got some of our Missouri soil, close to his mouth! Tee Hee!!

Bein' from 'The Ozarks' almost all my life, I can tell y'all I feel SO PRIVLEDGED to have the museum & theatre right here in "OZARK MOUNTAIN COUNTRY". I know I speak for THOUSANDS of others!!!!!!

What an honor to have been part of this memorable day, in Cowboy & Western Heritage history!

What a day it was!! For this will be a memory, that Buffalo Jim & I'll NEVER FORGET and we'll cherish, for the rest of our lives!!

From the Groundbreakin', to the final touches on the buildin'; we have for ya right here, photos that were taken by Buffalo Jim amd me durin' the different stages of the ten months construction. Hope ya'll will enjoy viewin' them!!

Please give this page plenty of time to load.
*The Future RR/DE Museum Excavation Site*
Here's a photo of the *Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum & Happy Trails Theatre* excavation site. The road in the far distance is Hwy 376. This shot was taken, lookin' towards the western sky. This photo was taken 8-4-02, by: Buffalo Gal.
*The Excavation Site Sign*
Here I am next to the excavation sign. The Tom Boyce Excavating Inc. of Branson is the company, that's doin' the work. This photo was taken, 8-4-02, by: Buffalo Jim.
*Dusty Talkin To The Fans*
Dusty, tellin' the crowd of how Dale 'fell in love' with *The Ozarks* while attendin' a western event back in 1998, in Branson. Her love for the midwest and it's Christian values, and the feelin' of simpler times of yesterday; they were among the many reasons for movin' the museum to Branson, MO. "She wanted a condo on the lake," he told us. *The Official Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum & Happy Trails Groundbreakin'*_Taken September 3, 2002, by: Buffalo Jim.
*Let's Start The Diggin'*
Dusty, along with his wife Linda , son Dustin & daughter-in-law Julie, Dusty's grandson, that special little guy "Tyler Roy," Dusty's niece Mindy & husband John; the Rogers Family is takin' that first step, puttin' the shovel into the ground. Local dignitaries are there helpin' the Rogers Family get started. Photo taken, September 3, 2002 by: Buffalo Jim.
*Don't Leave Us Out*
Accompanied by Dusty & the Rogers Family; the gunfightin' reenactment group who teaches gun saftey, the Osage Valley Vigilantes " from Cass County helps the Rogers family do their best to put that shovel in the ground! Photo taken, September 3, 2002 by: Buffalo Jim.
*New Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum & Happy Trails Theatre*
This is one of the later designs, of the new *Roy Rogers - Dale Evans & the Happy Trails Theatre*, with Trigger rearin' out in front. Y'all can visualize the buildin' in your mind!! Ain't it a splendid buildin'!! It will house a 26,000-square-foot museum and 300-seat theater.
*RR/DE Logo Closeup*
Here's a closeup of what the Roy Rogers - Dale Evans museum logo looked like on front of the buildin'.
Dusty & Buffalo Jim*
Buffalo Jim musta found somebody to snap this shot of him & Dusty! Great photo Buffalo Jim! This photo was taken, September 3, 2002.
*In Your Honor, Sis*
Sis Shirley, Dusty's a helpin' me, put the shovel in the ground for ya, since ya didn't get to attend. Did it for you, 'Kid'!! Just know Roy & Dale must be a lookin' down so proud and happy! Photo was taken September 3, 2002 by: Buffalo Jim.
*Michael & Me*
Our good friend Michael Carter, is makin' sure that I do it just right!! Well, think he wanted to get in the action of puttin' a shovel in the ground too! Michael has written many poems in honor of Roy & Dale for the museum to sell to the public. He take's no profits from the sale of his poems. Now that's a swell guy!! Taken, September 3, 2002 by: Buffalo Jim.
*Billboard Sign*
Here's the billboard sign they had at the groundbreakin' ceremonies. It's now atop a top soil pile, on the excavation site. It's a neat sign!! Photo taken, September 18, 2002, by: Buffalo Gal.
*Top of the Hill*
They've made a drive from Hwy 376, down onto the excavation property site. This shot, was taken atop the make shift drive from the 376 Hwy side. Photo taken, September 18, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
*Ground Level View*
A closer view of the drive they made, anglin' down onto the property from Hwy 376 & the 'startin' of, fillin' in' with rocks. Photo was taken, September 18, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
*Overall View*
This is a good view of the excavation site in Branson, MO. They've started fillin' in more with rocks, on the far side of the property. This photo was taken, from across the road from the property on Green Mountain Drive. Date taken, September 18, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
*Hwy 376 View*
They've done quite alot to the excavation site since we were down Branson, MO way!! You can see that they've been real BUSY! This shot was taken from the make-shift drive, lookin' towards the southeast. They're now startin' to get some of it leveled. This photo was taken, October 14, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
*From Atop the Hill*
As Johnny(the man in charge)told us, they're diggin' a ditch here in this photo, to lay the 'underground electricity'. If ya will look close, there's a ropeline with reddish streamers hangin' down. Well that's where the west side of the museum wall will be standin', 'sooner than ya think'!! Date taken, October 14, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
*Dumpin The Rock*
Y'all can see, this view is levelin' of the property. They've gotten quite ALOT DONE!! We were told, they use 3 to 4 dump trucks, haulin' from 120 to 160 loads a day of rock, to fill in. Ya sure can tell it, cause they've filled in 'alot of rock', to make it level off more. Photo taken, October 14, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
*A Closer Look*
Here's another view of the levelin' off of the property. From this angle, you can REALLY TELL, they've been workin' themselves, to continue the 'work in progress'. Taken October 14, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
*Thickness of the Rock*
Look HOW THICK the rock is layered here, in the 'fillin' of rock'! It's ALOT deeper in some areas, as the property is real low and steep! Taken October 14, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.

*I is Ready For Ya*
"Will ya hold on! Let me get it unloaded, will ya" says the dump truck driver! Looks like the bulldozer is awaitin' and "ready on the spot". Truly, we set for quite a spell and watched all of 'em, work as a team. This IS QUITE an experience, watchin' the progress in person!! Whenever they get the levelin' done (which can't be too far away now), they'll start pourin' the concrete slab for the museum & theatre, we were told. Gosh, I can hardly wait for that!! Taken October 14, 2002 by: Buffalo Gal.
