*Favorite Cowboys/Cowgirls & Steeds* & *Western Performers & Guests*

Hope we've included some of yours here! So settle back and
take a ride with us back to those "wondrous days of yesteryear".

*Dale Evans and Buttermilk*

Here's our own *Queen of the West,* Dale Evans
and her steed, *Buttermilk.*

*Roy Rogers and Trigger*

Here's our "King of the Cowboys" and his pal, "Trigger",
'the smartest horse in the movies'.

*Tv's Annie Oakley, Gail Davis and Target*

Do ya all remember this famous cowgirl? It's none other than Gail Davis, portrayin' Annie Oakley, on television and her horse Target. I just loved her show! Gail was an excellent "markswoman" & "little sureshot" because of her great aim & size, just like the woman she portayed. Strange......, my CB handle, was *Annie Oakley*. My aim, it ain't nothin' to brag 'bout!......The TV show ran from 1955 through 1958. It was repeated on TV, well into the 1960's. The show was created for Davis by "singin' cowboy" Gene Autry......Gail Davis took her last ride, on March 17, 1997, at the age of 71. God bless ya Gail, for givin' us lots of GREAT MEMORIES!!

*Hopalong Cassidy and Topper*

Hopalong Cassidy was one of my favorites growin' up. Hoppy And Topper helped weed out "the bad guys"!

*Rex Allen and KoKo*

I had the pleasure of seein' this duo at the age of 12. Rex Allen appeared at our local fair in Springfield, MO, the summer of 1959. I remember reachin' down to grab his hand as he reached up to shake mine. Ah, the memories!!

*Favorite Western Performers and Guests*

Here are just a few of our favorite western performers & guests. Some of our favorites have already gone to the "Cowboy/Cowgirl Heaven". Here's hopin' ya enjoy viewin' some of our favorites!!

Here's our beloved Roy & Dale! NO other will EVER replace them! They will be remembered down through the ages. In MY MIND, they'll "always be **King of the Cowboys** & **Queen of the West**!!

They always taught us to do the "right thing" and treat your friends and enemies, in the same manner.Their carin' ways for their own family, and children from all over the world, made them "heros" in many eyes of little cowboys and cowgirls, from all over! Like SO MANY OTHERS, I too wanted to be adopted by Roy & Dale, so I could be 'round, such wonderful role models.

This photo was taken in 1995, just 3 years 'fore Roy left this ole range; and 2 3/4 years 'fore Dale joined him. Now, they're singin' and performin' 'fore the "Mighty Master" himself!!

Specializing in songs of the Golden West, Daughters of the Purple Sage are internationally acclaimed for their smooth vocals and wonderful harmony. Named "Rising Star of the Year" for 1998 by the Academy of Western Artists, Daughters of the Purple Sage were nominated 1999 "Group of the Year" by the Western Music Association. The popularity of the group's entertained people all over the world. Fans are delighted by The Daughters' own special musical arrangements of such classics as Tumblin' Tumbleweeds and Cool Water.

These girls performed at "Cowboys Heros and Friends" in Branson, MO in 1999. That's where Buffalo Jim & I got to meet and get to know them.

Since 1999, the group has been on hiatus. I am so pleased to announce that "Daughters of the Purple Sage" are once again recording and began performing again in the Fall of 2003. Through the miracles of "special technology", they recorded their 3rd CD.

Carolyn Judy and Audrey, Jim and I consider it "God's Will" for you three to be together again tourin' and recordin' the western classic songs that you do in your own harmonious "unique" style! WELCOME BACK!!

*Roy A Singin'*

This is a young "Roy Rogers*, performin' back in 1944.

*Dusty Rogers*

*Dusty & Buffalo Gal*

Here's Roy "Dusty" Rogers with yours truly, durin'"Cowboys Heros and Friends" in 2000, Branson, MO.

*Dale Berry*

Here's our friend, Dale Berry.

He's virtually worked in every phase of show business there is.

Dale started his career back in 1944, by playin' hooky and hitchhikin' to Dallas, TX with guitar in hand.

Through his career in radio, television, and the movies, Dale worked with every "top notched" cowboy there was!

As western movies declined, he went from "cowboy hat and boots" to "suit and ties". Cast as lawyers, judges, doctors and the like, he played on television show Route 66, Dallas, Walker, Texas Ranger and others. Periodically, you can still catch Dale as "special agent" Chet Whicomb, on Walker, Texas Ranger reruns, with Chuck Norris and Clarence Gilyard.

Nowadays, he attends western festivals, along with other many western celebrities. Ya can also catch him at celebrity rodeos for charities and etc. That's where we first met up with him. At a western festival. He was the Emcee for the "2002 Roy Rogers Festival" in Portsmouth, OH.

As ya can see, he's pictured with his own "Dale Berry" guitar. They're available to the public. We have ours!! Here's where you may order one or more!

*Gene Autry*
Gene was one of my favorite singin' cowboys. Each Saturday mornin', with my brother Danny along side, and our trusty "wooden saw horses" beneath our knees, we would ride along with Gene on his weekly TV show."

*MMM & Company*

Here we all are! There's Karen (Michael's wife), Buffalo Jim, Buffalo Gal, and of course, "Murph" himself, at his 6th annual, "Cowboy Christmas Ball", in Springfield, MO December 14, 2002. Boy, was it ever better than the past 5 years! That year, he included video of his brother Mark & family, and when they were kids. He had videos from the "2001 Cowboy Christmas Ball", in Anson, TX. Anson is where the first "Cowboy Christmas Ball" got started in 1885, 119 years ago. He had more video of his family Christmases in past. It was a wonderful addition to the concert. We visited with Rancell & Janie Clark. They're the couple who convinced Murph to try Springfield, Missouri, for his annual Christmas tour. We got to visit with a few members of "The Vigilanties" group. What a night, for it was after midnight, for we left the hall and headed for home. The concert, it got over 'round 10:15PM. We had too much fun visitin' with our "ole friends"!!

*R. W. Hampton*

R W Hampton is an outstandin' talent! His wonderful voice, well it's a style of it's own. When Buffalo Jim and I saw him in Branson, MO, 2002 for the first time, he did a one act play called "The Cowboy". Here's a photo of him in that play. Fantastic job R.W.!!!!! He goes to western events all over the world!! Don't miss him if he's in your area! Ya's won't regret it!!

*Stan Corliss*

Here's Stan Corliss! He goes "all over" to western events. We saw him in Branson, MO in 2000 & 2001, at Cowboys, Heroes & Friends. Shirley Duke, and a few friends saw him starin' in the pre-show at "Cowboys Heros & Friends Show" at the "Sons of the Pioneers Theater" in Branson the summer of 2002. Shirley, Buffalo Jim and I saw him again, in Graham, TX, at the Dean Smith's "Celebrity Rodeo", fall of 2002. He's a great western performer!!

*Don Edwards, The Balladeer*

Don Edwards is known as "The Baladeer." His voice is so mellow. When he's a doin' Marty Robbins tune; ya wouldn't know it was't "Mr El Paso" himself! He's performs at many events!! He is a feature guest, at *West Fest.* Has been featured at *Cowboys, Heros & Friends, Cowboy Poetry Gathrin's & and many, many others venues!

*Here's .......Waddie*

Waddie Mitchell is #1 in "cowboy poetry" storytellin for me. First time I ever saw him on "the Tonght Show" with Johnny Carson, I rolled outta my chair, with laughter! He had just finished tellin' his poem and story of *The Bra*. If ya ain't heard it, ya's missing a lot of down to earth and realistic humor! Then and there, I knew I had to learn more of this poem fella from Elko, Nevada. His easygoin' style of "tellin' it like it is" is so true and "real to life." Waddie, if ya ever mosey over here at The Rockn' V Ranch website, ya know you're loved and respected. You're "the Bestest in the West!!

May the Good Lord take a likin' to ya'll!!

Many Happy Trails,
~Buffalo Gal~
