Rockn' V Southwestern Ranch™
*How ..... dy Folks!*
We wanna welcome y'all to Rockn' V Southwestern Ranch on the web.
If you have Friends or Family members servin' in the Armed Forces overseas, we Pray for the Lord to watch over them and insure a safe return home to their love ones real soon!!
Hope you'll spend some time gettin' to know us. Maybe you'll learn somethin' new! We hope you'll enjoy your visit with us and return often. Please spread the word 'bout our website. Enjoy lookin' 'round!
Buffalo Jim and I enjoy our life in the country. We are located in southwestern Missouri, USA ('bout 85 miles north of Branson, MO). We have 20 acres of beautiful woodlands and nature. God must have had us in mind, when he created this here land! We love the wonderful view of nature that we have here.

The deer are aroamin' the woodands and the wild turkey, well their aplenty.

Ya can hear the coyotes yappin' perdy often, and ya can hear the wolves howlin' at the moon on occasion.
There's a few quail left arunnin 'round in the bushes and brambles. Alot of squirrels, bunny rabbits, raccoons, a few foxes and lot of beautiful wild birds live here.

Other creepy crawly critters crawl out of hidin' when the weather is warmer.
The Lord, well he's done mighty good to give us this here place to live out the rest of our lives!! ....... We love the layed-back lifesytle we have in 'the country'. Sure don't miss, 'the fast paced' livin' in the city at all!!

In the warmer months, y'all find us outside workin' on our 20 acres. We'll be clearin' out brush, workin' in the veggie and flower gardens. Keepin' the grass mowed and trimmed is a chore, but we love it. (We keep 'bout 5 acres of mowed grass). When we're workin' outside , we seem to work out there 'til dark. "Time flies when ya is havin' so much fun"!!

Here's our home in wintertime. When we have alot of SNOW, It's looks 'so perdy' under that blanket of white.
It's a 'rustic lookin' home' with two wagon wheel light fixures in our great room!! It's got that 'western look and touch' throughout the main level. Our home has a walk-out basement. The main dowstairs livin' area has a 50's decor. We have all the old Route 66 state signs incorporated high on the back wall, in the kitchen area. We have a gorgeous 'art-tile' countertop bar with our favorite '50's B-Western Hero's'. There's horses gallopin' out of the American flag in the center four 8" X 8" tiles. Our dear friend, western celebrity artist, Katie West was commissioned to do her famous 'tile art™ work' for us. Please check her out at She does an excellent job!!
Buffalo Jim has his large Nascar collections throughout the downstairs' main area.
My salt n' pepper collection is scattered throughout our home, 'cause the display cabinet doesn't hold them all.
We love our cozy, warm feelin' home!!
The Lord has done wonderful things in both our lives. The best, HE brought Buffalo Jim & I together, and after all these years!!

Buffalo Jim & I just celebrated our 9th Anniversary on February 26, 2008.

We STILL consider ourselves newlyweds, and we feel like "teenagers", most of the time, except for those aches and pains that accompany gettin' older!!
Together, we have 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. My daughter Chantelle (Chani) had our last grandchild, Alexa Danielle on November 25, 2004. Aren't GRANDKIDS and GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN so wonderful, & special!! We have a very special and unique loving, step-family! As you can see, God has richly blessed us!!

We're enjoy all types of music!! Buffalo Jim loves the 'big band sound', classic country, jazz, some 'today's country', classic sounds from the 40's & 50's, gospel, bluegrass, and of course, 'Western Music' He enjoys ALL MUSIC, but he favors the 'big band sound and western music.
Me, I've been known to 'sing along', 'clap my hands', and maybe 'tap my foot to the music'. Golly, I've even been known to sing, 'in the shower'. Don't ya laugh now! I love the 40's, 50's and 60's "classic rock n roll (reminds me of my younger days). I enjoy jazz, easy listenin', 'traditional gospel', classic country, some opera, bluegrass, songs of yesteryear (any style), and especially Songs of the Cowboys/Cowgirls and the WEST" ...... Some songs that were played at our weddin' and reception were "Keeper of the Stars", sung by Tracy Byrd; and "I Cross My Heart", sung by George Strait. You're listenin' to "Keeper of the Stars" on this page.

We enjoy the old western cowboys and cowgirls. We like 'Western Events and Gatherin's'! We've met alot of our favorite Western TV and movie actors/actresses at these events. That's so excitin', since we've never grown up yet!! We've met and gotten to know several western music entertainers and performers through the years, and they are the *Bestest in the West*. We especially enjoy the events that are dedicated to our favororte cowboy and favorite cowgirl, Roy Rogers, **King of the Cowboys** & Dale Evans, **Queen of the West**. We travel to them ever chance we get. We've met SO MANY wonderful people along the trail, who've become our 'close friends and extended family'!!
We co-founded the Missouri Chapter of the WMA (Western Music Association). It's called, Show-Me Westerneers. We have recently formed and we'd like to invite ya to join us in keepin' the traditional and comtemperary styles of Cowboy Music and the traditions and heritage of the American Cowboy alive, for generations to come. Please give us an email to learn more 'bout it. Our email is right below the navigation menu on this page, or go to Show-Me Westerneers for more information on the WMA and the Missouri chapter.

We both enjoy goin' to stock car races in our area and watchin' 'em on TV, when we get the time. We especially like the Nacar circuit! Richard Petty was my 'all time favorite' driver!! Buffalo Jim has several favorites!
Buffalo Jim like messin' with cars! He has a '65 Chevy Elcamino, which he's in the process of restorin' it. It'll be "NICE" when he gets it completed!
My mom Vera and my stepdad Willus came to live with Buffalo Jim and me in August 2003. They were no longer able to take care of themselves properly. No one else in the family offered to take them in, and we certainly weren't about to send them to a nursin' home, yet!!
They lived with us for 1 1/2 years. At times, it was very tryin', with their minds agin' like they did. If we had it to do all over again, we'd sure do it in a heartbeat!!
On New Year's Eve 'bout noon 2004, Mom fell and broke her hip. After her stay in the hospital, she had to go to a nursin' facility for her rehabilitation and therepy. The Good Lord helped her phyical body to start mendin' the severe multi-fractures of her hip.
On the mornin' of January 28, 2005, Willus was sittin' at the dinin' room table and he told us he missed Mom so very much, that he had decided he'd like to move to the nursin' facility if they had a vacancy, so he could be close to his Love Vera, and see her anytime, day or night. We went to visit with Mom every day or two. And, if we didn't get over to Bolivar to see her, we'd call and we all would talk with her. Guess that made him miss her even more, 'cause they were never apart except for a day or two in their 24 1/2 year marriage. When we went over to see her that day, we checked with the lady in charge, and they did have a space available. Willus moved to the facility the very next day! It wasn't very far, just eighteen miles away from the ranch. So we got to visit them everyday or so.
Mom was doin' pretty good with her physical therapy and startin' to put a little weight on her hip as she was walkin' some with a walker and help from the phyical therpists. She was lookin' forward to her hair permanent the followin' week. But, on the mornin' of February 11, 2005, her appointed time and day arrived, and the Lord took her on home to Heaven quickly with no pain.
Willus did fairly well, considerin' losin' Mom, his Love and companion for many years. He continued to live at the nursin' facility and seemed to enjoy the companionship of others his age for awhile. He joined others in playin' games and enjoyed it when his youngest son Eddie came to visit and played the piano or organ for all the folks.
The last couple months of his life, he seemed to give up and say he was "very tired", and wanted to go home and join Mom. He quit eatin' and it was hard to get him to eat much of anythin'. Buffalo Jim could get him to drink some chocolate milk with suppliments in it. That was pretty much all he would touch.
The day 'fore his passin', Buffalo Jim went to see him. I was wantin'to go that afternoon with him to see Willus, but Buffalo Jim decided it might be too soon for me, just havin'major surgery, three days earlier. They did call me from the nursin' facility and I got to talk with Willus. "Bless his Sweet Heart", all he could say was "I Love you Carolyn, I Love You Carolyn". The next evenin', December 12, 2006, Willus went home to be with his SAVIOUR, and HIS LOVE, Mom.
